Understanding the Client’s Needs
Our client reached out to us early in their home refurbishment process to discuss the best window treatment and bespoke curtains in London for a bay window setup. The bay consisted of a straight window on the left and an L-shaped section on the right. Key considerations included achieving full blackout functionality while enhancing thermal insulation, given that radiators were to be installed below the large central window.
Precision Planning & Measurement
To ensure a perfect fit, we conducted a detailed survey and took precise measurements, accounting for both aesthetic appeal and practical efficiency. The goal was to optimise the projection on the sides while allowing for adequate clearance for the radiators.
Fabric Selection & Hardware Choice
After exploring different fabric options, the client opted for a natural linen fabric, which complements the room’s overall decor while maintaining a soft, organic feel. To create a striking contrast, we paired the curtains with a Metropole in black—matching the black radiators for a cohesive design statement.
Tailored Curtain Solution
We designed bespoke, made-to-measure double pleat curtains to provide a polished look with precise returns. This minimises light leakage along the sides, ensuring optimal blackout performance. The tailored fit also maximises insulation efficiency, helping to retain warmth and improve energy efficiency during colder months.
